From the recording Let Somebody Love You
I wrote the song in a cabin in Paradise Valley, Montana. The acoustic guitar riff is accented by a hypnotic rhythm section groove and lush electric guitar parts. The theme is self reflective and encouraging, suggesting to the listener that it's time to stop running and time to make room for the good things in life. It's time to let yourself be loved.
Recorded in Northern Idaho, the track is the second single from "Cosmico".
Lyrics
Rain Fell Down
And the creek rose up
Pour that poison in my coffee cup
Livin’ like a ghost from day to day
Rhyme or reason
It’s hard to say
Runnin’ these roads
A young man’s test
Silver eagle
I-90 West
The best of plans they could not see
The way things they would really be
Oh how I wish
You’d let somebody love you
Got the gang all tickets for the show last night
Homemade whiskey
Something just ain’t right
Head on down to the Old Saloon
Hold on tight cause we’re going to the moon
Flying like a jet
Wings on my feet
Close my eyes
Just so I can see
Wade on in to the boilin’ stream
Take my hand
Make me believe
Oh how I wish
You’d let somebody love you
Oh how I wish
You’d let somebody show you
Six quarts low
Diesel runnin’ hot
Listen to the show from the parking
If you wanna get drunk
Sit by the door
Cause everybody just want one more
Oh how I wish
You’d let somebody love you
Oh how I wish
You’d let somebody show you
Oh how I wish
You’d let somebody love you
